Valley Catholic High School is the recipient of the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association (OACA) 3A All Sports Award, recognizing VCHS as the top overall athletic program.
The award honors excellence across all OSAA-sanctioned sports and reflects cumulative success throughout the year. Schools are evaluated based on state-level team performance, program depth, and sustained achievement across fall, winter, and spring athletics.
For Valley Catholic, the recognition represents far more than wins and championships. It reflects a school culture built on discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and a shared commitment to excellence.
“This award is a recognition of a complete program — one that values not only winning, but commitment, teamwork, and the development of student-athletes across every season,” said VCHS Principal Dr. Sara Bruins.

The Valiants delivered an exceptional year of competition and achievement, including:
- Boys Basketball — 3A State Champions
- Girls Basketball — 4th Place at State
- Girls Volleyball — Back-to-Back State Champions
- Boys Cross Country — 6th Place at State
- Becky Kemper wins Volleyball Coach of the Year

The OACA presents six All Sports Awards annually, one for each OSAA classification from 1A through 6A. Schools earn points based on state championship team finishes, with points awarded from first through eighth place across all boys and girls sports. After all three athletic seasons conclude, the school with the highest cumulative total in each classification is named the All Sports winner.
The 2025–26 OACA All Sports Award winners are:
6A: Jesuit High School
5A: Summit High School
4A: Marist Catholic High School
3A: Valley Catholic High School
2A: Bandon High School
1A: Union High School
As Valley Catholic celebrates this milestone, the school is also preparing for an important transition. Beginning next year, VCHS will move into the 4A classification, bringing new competition and opportunities for growth.
“While the level of competition will increase, we are confident that our student-athletes are prepared not only because of their talent, but because of the culture of excellence, resilience, and teamwork that defines VCHS athletics,” Bruins shared in a letter to families.
Congratulations to the Valiants on an outstanding year.
Go Valiants.
