The Valley Catholic boys cross country team delivered an impressive 2nd place performance at the OSAA state meet on Saturday, Nov. 9. Ben Hoffman led the team with a personal record and a ninth-place podium finish, followed closely by Peter Davis in 12th. Everett Brown dropped 40 seconds from his previous personal best, and Harlen Sampson set a new freshman school record.
The team tied for first place with Banks at 79 points but narrowly missed the tiebreaker. It was an exciting end to the season, with the Valiants proving their strength in one of the most competitive Class 3A state meets.
Girls Cross Country placed 8th overall in the final standings, with impressive individual achievements by junior Isabella Wiebe, who secured third place with a time of 18:36.0, and senior Sierra Simmons, who finished strong in 11th place.
