Last week, ten Valley Catholic High School students traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice. This moving experience allowed students to advocate for critical issues rooted in Catholic social teaching, meet with elected officials, participate in workshops, listen to inspiring speakers, and visit sites important to our nation’s history.
Part of the tour included a visit to Senator Ron Wyden’s office where they met VC Alum Lavanya Sridharan (’12). Lavanya is Sen. Wyden’s Senior Advisor for Defense, Foreign Policy, Immigration and Appropriations.
We are grateful to our generous donors who made this trip possible and we look forward to our students carrying forward the important lessons they learned!
Lent is a special time in the Church year when we take a moment to prepare for the amazing journey of Jesus’ suffering, death, and Resurrection. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to grow in our faith and become spiritually stronger while spending time with Jesus in the quiet of the desert.
Join us on Monday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m. via Google Meet for a special event in honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.
