A letter from Valley Catholic Early Learning School Principal Amber Ploussard
Dear VCELS Families,
As we approach the end of the year, we are excited to celebrate the joy and beauty of the Advent season with your children. December is a special time of year filled with anticipation, faith, and love as we prepare for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
This month, we focus on the themes of hope, peace, joy and love during Advent. The children will learn about the meaning of Advent through stories, songs, and special activities. We will also talk about the importance of preparing our hearts for Jesus as we await His coming at Christmas. We are practicing our numbers as we count down to Christmas, and sing lots of Christmas songs to prepare for our Christmas program!
Our students and teachers were excited to celebrate the feast day of St. Nicholas. We read all about St. Nicholas in our classes and during our morning prayer time. On Dec. 6 St. Nicholas visited our students and left a treat in their shoe! And, on Dec. 13, our school will have a visit from Santa. Students will get to tell Santa their wish list and take lots of photos; look for the pictures on the Valley Catholic Flickr album and on the Valley Catholic Instagram page.
Our annual Christmas program will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The children will sing Christmas carols and share what they have learned about the season. We invite all families to join us for this joyful occasion!
In the spirit of Advent and Christmas, we are excited to announce our annual KGW Toy Drive to help bring joy to children in need this holiday season. Through this effort, we aim to spread the love of Christ by sharing with others and ensuring that every child experiences the joy of Christmas. This month we are collecting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Every toy will be donated to the KGW Toy Drive, which will distribute them to families who need extra support this Christmas.
Thank you to all of our families that contributed to this toy drive so far, together you are helping to make this a special Christmas for children in our community. Your generosity will bring smiles to many faces, and we thank you for your kindness and support.
We want to thank each of you for your continued support and involvement in our preschool community. Your partnership makes our school a special place where children grow in faith, love, and knowledge. We are blessed to share this Advent season with all of you.
Wishing you and your family a peaceful and joyful Christmas season filled with love and blessings.
Faithfully,
Amber Ploussard
