VCHS Students Receive Science Lab Kits at Home
Thanks to VCHS’s smaller class size, students can receive at-home science lab kits. The lab kits, assembled by Ms. Portillo, were sent to AP Chemistry and AP Physics II students. The Chemistry kits contained the Vernier lab quest device and meters plus glassware, thermometers, calorimeters, colorimeters, and household chemicals. The Physics kits contained the Vernier lab quest device, glassware, meter sticks, and predrilled liter bottles. The home kits allow the students to work on the lab at the same time together over Zoom. Ms. Portillo has sent out two rounds of kits and is working on a third.
In addition, all students are using a virtual lab platform to continue to perform experiments and collect data until we can have them on-site once again.
