Wine – Its all in the VCS Family
The VCS Gala benefits from a generous community of VCS family winemakers. Their varietals have graced our event tables and Wall of Wine for many years. Raise a glass to this year’s sponsors:
Beacon Hill Winery is owned and operated by VCES parents Carla Rodriguez and George Hillberry. Their winery and guest houses offer stunning views, special occasion venues and a warm welcome to all who visit. Many thanks to the Rodriguez-Hillberry family for their support! Salud!
Jesse Estate Vineyards was established in 2009 by Mary ’82 and Alan Jesse when their first vines were planted. Their daughters Anna ’11 and Katharine ’14 are Valiant alumnae as well. We are incredibly thankful for this VCS legacy family. Sláinte!
SSMO Foundation Director Tom and Melinda Melillo, parents of Thomas ’19 and J. Michael ’21, are contributing their delicious pinot noir from their winery, Olea Vineyards. Cheers to Olea for keeping our palates happy at the Gala! Proost!

- Vineyard stay at Beacon Hill Winery near Gaston. Enjoy a two-night stay for up to 6 guests in a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home nestled in in the heart of the vineyard, as well as a full tasting of Beacon Hill wines.
- Bring your friends to Jesse Estate Vineyards, just south of Hillsboro where you will experience a guided wine tasting for 8. Tour the vineyard and enjoy sparkling wine or rose, hear a brief overview of wine tasting techniques and tips, learn what makes the Oregon wine industry different from the rest of the industry, and taste six top-quality pinot noirs with light accompaniments. Each guest will take home a bottle of Jesse Estate Vineyards’ wine.
