Charitable Stocks
Donating stock, bonds, or other appreciated assets can be an extremely tax-efficient way to support the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon and their sponsored ministries. When you donate appreciated assets held for more than one year, you may avoid capital gains taxes and be eligible to take a tax deduction for the full fair-market value of the asset.

Donor-advised Funds
Make a grant from your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF). DAFs are investment accounts for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations today. This tool automatically links with your DAF, allows you to recommend how you would like your gift to be used and notifies the SSMO Foundation of your intentions. Using the tool linked above also saves us a lot of time, so thank you.

IRA Rollover/Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you are 70½ years or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit SSMO Foundation and receive tax benefits in return. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such without having to pay income taxes on the money. This popular gift is the IRA charitable rollover, and also referred to as a qualified charitable distribution or QCD.
If you have already made a QCD directly through your IRA custodian, let us know! (Your custodian may not include your name with your gift.)

Cryptocurrency
Donate crypto. We now accept donations of Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies. This gives us one more way to further the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon’s mission of education, health care and community outreach while providing you with extra tax benefits.
Non-cash giving is a simple and easy way to make a lasting difference for the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon and their sponsored ministries. It only takes a few minutes to make a generational difference. Get started today and see for yourself.
