Valley Catholic High School seeks students with strong academic skills, a sincere interest in learning, and a desire to be an active member of the school’s extracurricular life.

Application Checklist

  • Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) – The test is offered at Valley Catholic on Dec. 5 and 6. Scores can be sent to Valley Catholic if the test is taken with a different Portland-area Catholic high school.
  • Submit an application via Finalsite Enrollment online
  • Submit an evaluation request – Recommendations from an English and math teacher, and a principal or counselor are due by Jan. 28 via Finalsite Enrollment.
  • Submit your transcript – Unofficial copies of permanent records from previous schools (transcripts and standardized test scores) are due Jan. 28..
  • Complete an interview – Registration for in-person interviews opens in January. Interviews will take place in Feb.

Tuition and Scholarships

Financial Aid | We use the tuition management company “FACTS” to process financial aid. | 2025-26 Tuition Rate: $20,180

* We do not charge an ACE fee and a student Macbook is included in the cost of tuition.

Incoming freshman scholarship application: Due Jan. 9

SSMO Legacy Scholarship for current VC students – application due Jan. 9

Tuition covers approximately 80% of the actual cost of a VCS education. Visit A Valiant Partnership to learn how tax deductible, charitable donations help keep tuition rates as affordable as possible.


Admission Dates

  • Open House – Oct. 26
  • Spend-a-Day visits – Oct. – March
  • Freshman Applications Due – Jan. 9
  • Financial Aid and Scholarship Applications Due – Jan. 9
  • Incoming Freshman Transcripts and Recommendations Due – Jan. 28
  • Freshman Decision Letters Emailed and Mailed – March 6
  • Freshman Enrollment Deadline – March 19
  • Freshman Registration Night – April 1
  • Transfer applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We typically begin sending decision letters for transfer applications in March or early April.

  • Student Athlete Night – Fall Session* – Oct. 7
  • Science Exploration Night* – Nov. 4
  • Fine Arts Immersion Night* – Nov. 5
  • Academic Night (parents invited)* – Nov. 19
  • A Very Valiant Christmas – Dec. 10
  • Student Athlete Night – Winter Session* – Jan. 8

* Requires pre-registration. Pre-registration is also encouraged for Academic Night and A Very Valiant Christmas. The admissions office will send out registration information to students who have created an admissions account approximately two weeks before each event.
