Dear VCELS Families,

April has been a wonderful and blessed month at Valley Catholic Early Learning School. As we move through this joyful season of Easter, we are grateful for all the moments of growth, celebration, and learning we have shared together.

This is a beautiful time of year to be on our campus. Our students have enjoyed more and more time outside: walking, playing, observing, and enjoying the warmer weather.

Throughout April, the children learned about the value of kindness and how to show Jesus’ love to others. We emphasized sharing, helping hands, and the importance of prayer. Our preschool students and teachers attended an all campus Mass on the Wednesday of Holy Week, and as a school community, we have focused on the Gospel stories of the Easter season.

In honor of God’s creation, we celebrated Earth Day on April 22 by planting flowers and herbs in our school garden. The children also learned about caring for the earth through simple activities like recycling, picking up litter, and talking about how we can be “good stewards” of God’s gifts. We celebrated Earth Day by having an outdoor celebration with songs, bubbles, dancing, and sharing special gifts with the Sisters. Building on Earth Day, students will dive into science by observing how seeds grow into plants, watching caterpillars grow into butterflies, and caring for our school garden.

Preschool students had a special time when they stopped by to visit the residents at Maryville earlier this month. Both preschoolers and residents enjoyed spending time together reading stories, coloring, and singing songs.

Enrollment is now open for school age summer camps and after school care for the 2025-26 school year. All students Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to join us! Please see the Early Learning School website or stop by the school lobby for more information.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our youngest Valiants grow and learn.

In Christ,

Amber Ploussard
