Kathleen Beemer

Science Teacher

Science | Kathleen “Kelly” Beemer has a B.S in biology from the University of San Francisco, and a M.S. in Tumor Biology from Georgetown University. She spent many years working in vaccine development and cancer research, even publishing papers, presenting at international conferences, and being named on a biotech patent. She was a stay at home mom for many years, and managed to tutor students in biology and AP biology in the evenings. She began teaching at VCMS in 2018 before making her way across the parking lot to the high school in 2019 for a long-term sub position and again in 2020 to join the science department. She will be teaching Health I, Anatomy and Physiology, and freshmen Biology. In her free time Kelly enjoys spending time with her family (and cats!), baking goodies in the kitchen, and traveling.
