Spanish and Religion Teacher | Jay Courtney-Leocadio joined Valley Catholic Middle School in 2026, beginning his teaching career with a commitment to creating a welcoming classroom where students feel known and are encouraged to thrive. A 9th-generation Oregonian, Jay holds a degree in teaching with a focus in English Language Learning. He is passionate about building strong relationships with his students and helping them grow as learners and academic risk takers.

Faith, family, and community are important parts of Jay’s life. He serves as a lector at his parish and enjoys spending time with his family and his dog, Angus. Outside of school, he can often be found watching sports, out on the trails camping and hiking, or country line dancing with his wife.
