Hyeyeon Kim

Hyeyeon Kim began playing the piano at the age of five, and music has remained an important part of her life ever since. She has taught piano for 29 years in multiple countries, working with students of all ages and skill levels, including young children. Hyeyeon believes piano lessons should be both educational and enjoyable. She takes the time to understand each student’s individual needs, personality, and learning style, adapting her approach to help every student succeed. Her goal is to provide a strong musical foundation while helping students build confidence and develop a lasting appreciation for music. In addition to teaching, Hyeyeon has more than 30 years of experience as an accompanist, working with choirs, musicians, and recital performers. She has also conducted piano recitals and volunteered for many years as a musician at Maryville Nursing Home. Hyeyeon brings nine years of experience in early childhood education to her teaching. This background has given her valuable insight into how young children learn and develop, allowing her to create a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment. For Hyeyeon, teaching piano is about more than reading music and playing the correct notes. She takes great joy in watching her students grow, gain confidence, and discover the joy of making music.
