Director of Design Thinking, STEM Department Head and Digital Art and Animation Teacher | Yin-Fang Liao joined Valley Catholic Middle School in 2019 and currently serves as Director of Design Thinking and the STEM Department Chair. She teaches Digital Arts, Animation, Study Skills, and Capstone. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Computer Art with a focus on Animation from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Before entering education, she spent more than 18 years in the film industry, contributing to visual effects and animation on Academy Award–nominated films such as “Coraline,” “ParaNorman,” and “The Boxtrolls.” She earned her Career Technical Education teaching license with an endorsement in Media Arts in 2018. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling with family and friends.
