Yaritza Tavera
6th grade Spanish, dance and 7th grade STEM Teacher
Spanish, dance and STEM teacher | Yaritza teaches 6th grade Spanish, dance, and 7th grade STEM. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Yaritza Terrero Tavera obtained her international baccalaureate in 2019 at United World College Costa Rica (UWCCR). Four years later, she graduated from the College of Idaho with a Business/Commerce degree and minors in Communication and Natural Science.
Yaritza helped form an amazing nonprofit organization back in the DR called Mariposa DR Foundation and Center for Girls. The Foundation helps educate and empower girls born in extreme poverty. Yaritza also co-led the UWC short course for international students worldwide focused on sustainability as justice. Every summer, she goes home and serves as a mountain bike instructor and creative writing teacher to the girls in the Mariposa Foundation.
