A letter from Valley Catholic School President John Matcovich

Dear Valley Catholic School Community,
I hope your family enjoyed a relaxing Spring Break and a meaningful celebration of Holy Week and Easter. For Christians, this is a very significant time in the liturgical year as we reflect on Jesus’ suffering on the cross, and celebrate His triumph over death through the resurrection. Easter has come to symbolize rebirth and renewal – something we see all around us in the natural world at this time of year.
As the calendar turns to April, the end of the school year is beginning to come into view for students and teachers. We appreciate the longer days, and look forward to the many spring activities that create strong and lasting memories for students, particularly for those who will be graduating. These special events include retreats, field trips, capstone projects, science field study, athletic competitions, and so much more. I encourage students to take time in the midst of these busy days to slow down and appreciate the opportunities as they present themselves. Staying present in the day-to-day is one way to recognize God’s presence in our lives.
One special upcoming highlight is that during the week of April 20, Valley Catholic will be celebrating Campus Culture Week. We look forward to assemblies, prayer services, artistic performances and other celebrations of our families’ cultural heritage. Valley Catholic is blessed with a rich community. Please check the calendar in your child’s school and plan to join us for one of these special events.
I hope you – like your children – are energized for the final push toward the end of the school year.
Sincerely,
John Matcovich
Valley Catholic School President
