Valley Catholic School (VCS), sharing in the mission of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, believes every student deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for college and beyond. That is why we are excited that the Weston Challenge is back for 2023.
The Weston Challenge is an annual fundraising effort encouraged by the OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation. The fundraising challenge provides tuition assistance to 25% of VCS students and ensures the VCS mission lives on through every generation of students.
This year, the OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation has challenged us to raise $95,000 for tuition assistance by September 15. Ready for the best part? Mr. Weston will match each donation – totaling $190,000 in need-based tuition assistance.
Every gift to the Weston Challenge makes twice the difference in a student’s life. It provides them with the resources they need to excel in academics, leadership, character development and service.

Why should you support VCS and the Weston Challenge?
Here are a few highlights about the unique value of a VCS education:
Age-focused, college-prep learning starting in elementary
At VCS, the earlier students prepare for college, the better. That is why our elementary school curriculum develops the foundational skills students need to succeed academically and personally in middle school, high school, and beyond.
Innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) classes
Three new STEM programs were added last year. As technology continues to shape the world around us, our students must have the skills they need to succeed in STEM fields. VCMS offers innovative STEM classes that prepare our students for future careers.
92% of Valley Catholic high school students participate in extracurricular activities.
Learning happens inside and outside the classroom. We encourage our students to participate in sports, clubs, and community service projects. By doing so, they develop leadership skills, build meaningful relationships, and gain valuable experiences that prepare them for college and beyond.
50% of VCHS students participate in fine arts
At VCS, a well-rounded education includes exposure to the arts. VCS offers several exemplary arts programs, from music and theater to visual arts and digital media.
12,000 hours of community service by VCS students each year
Our students are responsible for giving back to their communities. Students complete nearly 100 hours of community service each year, which encourages them to get involved in service projects on and off campus.
The Weston Challenge is an incredible opportunity to support a school dedicated to providing students with a high-quality education, and providing a diverse and inclusive learning environment that prepares them for life beyond VCS.
Donate today and help us reach our goal of raising $95,000 by September 15. Together, we can make a difference in young people’s lives and ensure today’s students receive the quality education and life-changing opportunities unique to Valley Catholic School.
