As the school year begins, I am drawn to James Tissot’s The Wise Virgins (1886–1894), a striking depiction of the wise women of Matthew 25. Tissot presents them at a moment of slumber, their lamps prepared as they wait for the bridegroom. They rest together — leaning toward one another, hems touching, hands relaxed, feet extending.
Archbishop Alexander Sample recently visited Valley Catholic School, spending time with students and teachers from the Early Learning School all the way through the high school.
Valley Catholic’s fall student-athletes stepped in front of the camera for VCS Media Day, giving Valiant fans a first look at the teams representing Valley Catholic this season.
The energy is high with expectation as students return to campus! We are also excited because early-bird registration is open for the 30th annual VCS Gala!
Congratulations to Tricia Croy on 25 years of service to Valley Catholic School! Tricia was recently honored by the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon during a special anniversary dinner celebrating 25 years of service to the SSMO campus community.
For 140 years, the Sisters legacy has been built through faith, grit and a valiant commitment. Your gift to the Annual Fund helps to carry their legacy forward.
Each year, we share our immunization rate data with parents and the campus community to ensure transparency and promote awareness. You can find this information on the Oregon Health Authority website at healthoregon.org/immdata, or by contacting our school office.
If you have any questions or concerns about immunizations, refer to the question and answer sheet available on the Oregon.gov website, or reach out to us for assistance. Together, we can help keep our students healthy and thriving.
From the first day on campus to the final walk across the stage, we plan to capture memorable moments throughout the 2026-27 school year. Visit our Flickr page and take a look back at a Valiant school year as it unfolds!
