Announcing the 2026 VCS Gala Poster Contest

Calling all VCHS creatives. We want your help designing the poster for our 30th Annual VCS Gala. The winning design will have their art used in this year’s Gala collateral (posters, invitations, web/social and on-site signage). Three winners will receive a gift card to Blick Art Materials. What is the Gala?

The Gala is an annual, schoolwide celebration and fundraising event for all of Valley Catholic School. Parents, faculty, staff, alumni, the Sisters and supporters come together for the shared purpose of supporting our Valiant students and teachers.

It is a week-long event, beginning with an online auction and culminating with an elegant evening of community, music, food, silent and live auction packages, alumni awards and entertainment.

All money raised from the week-long event supports programs, faculty and students at VCS.

Poster Judging Criteria

Creativity

The sky is the limit.

Think about what the Gala is for and what Valley Catholic means to you. We love our shades of blue, but you do not need to stick with this color. Tap into the creativity that inspires you.

Consider this

What does the gift of a Valley education mean or look like to you?

We want the poster to connect our community with the students and education at VCS.

Guidelines

Format: 11×17 (portrait orientation).

Medium: The art can be done in any style you might like, e.g. illustration, watercolor, digital, etc, just as long as it can be scanned.

Other: No words or details about the Gala are necessary. Your art will be used as background art for Gala posters, invites and promotions around campus.

Submissions

You will need to provide

Digital file of completed poster art in 300dpi (.pdf, .jpg or .png)

Name, grade and Valley Catholic email address

Short write-up of your thoughts and inspiration behind your artwork

Entry deadline

All submissions must be received by April 12, 2026. One submission per student.

Winners

Three posters will be chosen by the Communications and Foundation teams. These three will be voted on in a school-wide community vote. Voting will take place from April 17-April 30.

Each of the top three winners will receive a prize from Blick Art Materials and the winner’s poster will be used for the main 2026 Gala Art.

The winner will be notified and announced publicly on May 27.
